Relaxed Monday Evening

My youngest brother is lying on the sofa across the room from me, reading a Redwall book, and giggling periodically. Which makes me smile. I like laugh-out-loud books.

  1. You know that runs in the family.

I can remember going to your Dad's family - your aunts and uncles would sit around the room and read aloud to the rest of everyone sitting there.
That was some of the best memories for me. These were books like Laural and Hardy, Mr. Bean. - oh man, I can't even remember them all. The reader would get to laughing so hard they could hardly read and would pass the book off the next sibling sitting in the circle and round and round the book would go.

If that wasn't happening - I can honestly remember what you're talking about. The giggles from Lisa or Rosie as they read. Used to drive me nuts cuz I didn't know what they were reading that was so funny.

    Good memories.

  2. :) I do the same thing while reading Redwall books. And then my family always has to ask "What happened *now*?"

  3. My apologies, people. Normally I try to publish comments asap. Somehow, that didn't happen this time.

Bev- Thanks for your memories. :) I love hearing stories about my family. And these were great! I can soooooo see that happening...

Celtic Traveler- I'm sometimes tempted to ask the same question, but since I've read the books myself, I can about guess what's going on. A hare has said something smart-alecky, an otter's made a joke, the hero has won a victory over the enemy, or quite possibly a youngster has gotten into a scrape. :) They're great books.
